Do I need to know which type of massage I need? Tell us what’s bothering you and what you would like help with. We can discuss the approach, and adjust the pressure that suits you

Does a massage have to hurt? Not at all. More pressure doesn’t mean a better massage. Let your therapist know how it feels, especially if you find yourself tensing up or holding your breath. You can ask for lighter or firmer pressure at any time, and we can change the technique to suit

Will I be covered during my massage? Your privacy matters. We use towels to cover the areas that aren’t being treated and to keep you comfortable. Your therapist will explain any adjustments needed. Please speak up if you feel awkward at any stage

Can I ask you to avoid a particular area? Absolutely. It’s your massage. Tell your therapist which areas you would like concentrated on, and which you would prefer us to avoid. You can change your mind during the appointment as well

Do I have to talk during my massage? You’re welcome to chat, or enjoy some quiet time. We may check in about pressure and comfort, but there’s no need to keep a conversation going

Should I mention my health conditions? Yes please. Please tell your therapist about relevant medical conditions, medications, recent surgery, injuries or pregnancy. This helps us give you the best outcome

Do I need to be sporty to book a sports massage? Not at all. Tell us about your daily activities, whether that means sport, working at a desk, gardening or being on your feet all day. We’ll discuss what you need from the session

How often should I have a massage? There’s no single schedule that suits everyone. It depends on your goals and how your body responds. Monthly is the most recommended frequency, but only if you desire it

Will one appointment be enough? That depends on why you’re coming in and how you respond. We can discuss what seems appropriate after your session, but we can’t promise a particular result or number of treatments

How do I book a Hender Massage? Click “Book online” on our website to see available appointments and choose a time that suits you. If you’re unsure what to book or can’t find a suitable appointment, send us a text
